David Haye – The champ is back in town

The champ is back in town and of course his first port of call with his full entourage was Stringfellows. Not looking the slightest perturbed about his recent fight in Hamburg.OK, so he lost on points but lets keep in mind that he fought a giant 4 inches taller and 2 stone heavier and with an extended reach of 3 inches longer than David’s.But as David said to me, no excuses, but he does feel that he could take him out if they get back for a re-match.However, after his usual steaks and a couple of hours relaxing he did tell me that Hollywood is beckoning, but of course that’s a decision to be made later on down the line.But nothing changes in Stringfellows; as far as we’re concerned he’s still our world-boxing champion. And let’s face it, outside of the two giant Klitschko brothers who in the heavyweight-boxing world, could last a full twelve rounds with David Haye? The answer to that is simply nobody.

Once again it never stops, who would fail to be impressed when one of the most famous living artists in the world, ever, walks into my club? Well, here he is, Damien Hirst.He was very generous with the girls and the lady in this photo was his favourite. However one of my Heavenly Money sellers – namely Jessica, who had been looking after him all night, cheekily asked him if he would sign something for her.

Amazingly he agreed. Even more amazingly when she produced a pair of red knickers he roared with laughter and sighed them and went a step further by drawing little hearts and butterflies.
I am assured by Jessica that this pair of knickers will not end up on eBay but having checked with my art expert friend I am told that if she ever did put them up on eBay she could expect to start with an asking price of £10,000 and could easily go as much as £50,000 plus.

Needless to say, I now have 75 angels all walking around my club with a spare pair of knickers waiting for him to come back in.

Anyway Damien it was a pleasure to know you called in on my club. Sorry I missed you. Hopefully we will meet up and if you want to sign my Calvin Klein underpants please don’t hesitate to ask.

(PS. Damien came in again last night but sadly for the girls did not sign any more knickers.)

Leslie Phillips

Well, well, here he comes for a second visit. This is the iconic and legendary British actor Leslie Phillips. His films are too numerous to list off here but one of his more recent ones was in a film called Venus where he co-starred with Peter O-Toole (another legend of course but sadly has never been to one of my clubs, but yes I have met him).

He first made a visit last year and then we did a TV programme together towards the end of last year but as they say, ‘you can’t keep a good man down’.

Here he is with to or our dancers Laura and Bliss. Sadly I missed his visit but I made sure he had a bottle of champagne with my compliments…

DJ Peter Price and Scott Stringfellow

Now here’s a photo of a very good friend of mine – DJ Peter Price who works at Radio City in Liverpool. He was in London to pick up the very special and prestigious Baer award called “The Show Of The Year Award”.

Now Peter’s been DJing for as many years as I can remember – He used to DJ at Stringfellows back in 1980. Anyway he came to pick up the award and meet my son Scott who is a racing driver and instructor.One of the things Scott has picked up from me is that he’s pretty good with a microphone. You can hear him on www.silverstone.com every Wednesday at 10pm. This show is picked up all around the world and is listened to everyone who is into cars and racing.

To say that Scott is obsessed by the racing business is an understatement, but when he’s not involved with the radio and racing you can find him in both my clubs keeping an eye on everything.

Rick Wakeman

For some reason I have been in great demand to give my political views on radio and tv and this morning I did The BBC ONE NEWS…and it was great fun they wanted my views on the AV referendum I was and still am a NO change vote…anyway by the time you read this it will be all over and so be it. But what made my day was seeing my old friend Rick Wakeman who put together and played with YES the legendary band that started in the 1960′s and that’s how we met, he and his band played for me in 1970 at one of my first clubs in Sheffield called The Penthouse and I booked them for a City Hall concert…they were great days!!!!…of course his first love is still music but he has his own TV show now…and a true conservative supporter…see you soon Rick !!

The 7th Parachute Regiment

As I am sure every body knows the “Armed Forces” are all ways welcome in any of my clubs and here is a photo of some business guys partying in the club with soldiers from the 7th Parachute Regiment and they had all been to a big military charity dinner where one of the guys had bid £5000 for this flag ..it’s the original one that had been flying over the battalions head quarters for their full stay in Afghanistan ..and believe it or not just 4 tables away three pilots from the RAF where were having their party…and then David Haye came in and said hello to all of them ..what a night, what a party, what a club !!!!!

Jeremy Vine

I had a call from BBC 2 Radio yesterday to go on the Jeremy Vine show today (Wednesday 4th) to give my opinion on the AV referendum – I told them it is an absolute NO to change. Also on the show was Armando Iannucci, a comedian and writer who featured in and wrote ‘In The Thick Of It’ and he was Yes to the change. By the time you get to read this the decision will have been made. I am not a gambling man but I would put 50p on that NO change wins, but that is by the way.

Jeremy is a super guy and we go back a long way, and it was a pleasure being on his show and yes, I did manage to get a few plugs in for the club!

Sailor Buck Taylor on leave

They do say ‘all the girls love a Sailor boy’ and this one is called Buck Taylor, who is a sub mariner on HMS ‘Tireless’ one of the UK’s top submarines which is constantly at sea, but Buck managed to get a few days leave. But I cannot give you any more information than that, other than he was very popular with the girls, and they thought he was very cute and kept trying his hat on! Buck said his ship mates would not believe him, but guys here is the proof – yes he did come to Stringfellows and yes he did have dances and he was very happy, so Buck next time bring the boys with you!

Richard Keys

After having a chat with Richard Bacon from Radio 5 Live a couple of days ago, when I brought up the subject of Richard Keys, ex Sky Sports presenter, and how I thought it was unjust that he no longer had a job there. A storm in a tea cup is not a way to describe it because the problem was even smaller than that. Richard apologised openly for what was said, his criticism was off camera and was a private joke between him and his co-host Andy Gray, and not justified for Sky Sports to sack them. In my opinion Sky TV, one of the biggest media corporations in the world, should be equally big enough to admit their mistake and take them both back as soon as possible.

Nevertheless he is having a great time with his new show presenting with Andy Gray on Talk Sports Radio. You should try and catch it, I understand it is on every day.

David Haye – ‘I love the food at Stringfellows’

My very good friend David Haye has confirmed what we already know, that the food here at Stringfellows, like David himself, is world class.

In an interview published in todays Sun David talks about his love for the food here at Stringfellows.

Londoner Haye revealed: “Peter Stringfellow is a long-time friend of mine and I regularly head for his place when I am not in training.

“You will be surprised how good the restaurant in there is. People think I am winding them up about it, but the restaurant is really nice.”
